Sharebuilder Purchase – 1/12/2016

Here are my sharebuilder automatic investments this week (1/12/2016).

  • AFL – 1.7419 shares@57.41 ($100)
  • DIS – 0.9861 shares@101.409 ($100)
  • EMR – 2.2672 shares@44.1065 ($100)

I invested a total of $300.

I continued my purchases in DIS and EMR. EMR has dropped over 5% compared to last week’s purchase. I plan to continue adding to this stock over the next few weeks as I build a reasonable position as long as the stock doesn’t increase too much. I also continued to add DIS from last week as the stock continues drop close to $100 levels. Hoping for the stock to come to $90s and might add more.

I also added AFL after several months. The stock has dropped close to 15% in the last month along with the broader market. My position wasn’t too big and the stock dropped back to below my average price. I want to add to this position if the stock continues below the ~$57 levels.

I want to add to my other positions like PEP, KO, V etc, and these prices have dropped a bit this week. Will look at these stocks for next week’s purchases based on the prices next week. but want these prices to drop a bit more before I continue to add.

This week’s purchases add $8.32 to my annual dividends. This results in 2.77% yield.

These purchases increase my total annual projected dividends to $3,320.46.

Disclosure: Long on all stocks mentioned above

  1. Good to see things moving along! I think you got your wish this week about Disney – did you buy any more?
I haven’t bought insurance companies for a while – I considered AFL at the time but I went with CB in the end; they’ve now been acquired so we’ll see how that goes. I think I was subconsciously scared by the duck.

    • DIS at ~93 is looking very good. I am hoping the price stays low for a while while I continue to add.
I don’t have much exposure to insurance sector and AFL is a very small position. It is a risky position due to its dependence on revenue from Japan and stronger dollar.
