Sharebuilder Purchase – 10/28/2014

Here are my sharebuilder automatic investments this week (10/28/2014).

  • V – 0.4652 shares @214.965
  • DIS – 1.12 shares @89.285
  • WMT – 1.314 shares @76.105
  • KO – 2.464 shares @40.585

I am continuing to add to DIS and WMT since initiating position last week. Also continuing to add V, but will reconsider V for next week based on prices. I started adding to my KO position since its drop last week. Decided not to add JNJ since it jumped by around 5% from last week. Will continue to monitor these stocks closely and decide which ones to add for next week.

I invested a total of $400 ($100 in each stock). These purchases add $8.59 to my annual dividends. This results in 2.14% yield. Over the course of next several weeks/months, I plan to build positions in the above stocks.

Disclosure: Long on all stocks mentioned above

Sharebuilder Purchase – 10/21/2014

Here are my sharebuilder automatic investments this week (10/21/2014).

  • AFL – 1.7286 shares @57.85
  • V – 0.4763 shares @209.96
  • DIS – 1.1469 shares @87.195 (new position)
  • JNJ – 1.0036 shares @99.645 (new position)
  • WMT – 1.3211 shares @75.695 (new position)

AFL continues to drift downwards since I initiated the position last month and I have been adding to it each week. I added more to V after it went lower than my average price. KO and PEP has been going upwards and hence decided to hold off a bit on those (KO did drop yesterday though). I initiated new positions in three new stocks and all these have been stocks that I have been on the lookout for a while. JNJ and WMT are stocks that have great dividend history with decent dividend yields. DIS’s yield is low and they pay out annually. But I feel that they have great growth potential and including dividend growth based on the brands they own. Their sports TV division (ESPN and its family of networks) is a gold mine that has huge growth potential. The movie division has good brands including Star Wars and coupled with the theme parks etc, I think they have huge potential to grow.

I invested a total of $500 ($100 in each stock). These purchases add $9.65 to my annual dividends. This results in 1.93% yield. Over the course of next several weeks/months, I plan to build positions in the above stocks.

Sharebuilder Purchase – 10/7/2014

Here are my sharebuilder automatic investments this week (10/7/2014).

  • AFL – 1.7341 shares @57.6675
  • PEP – 1.0747 shares @93.045
  • V – 0.476 shares @210.0875

AFL continues to drift downwards since I initiated the position last month and I have been adding to it each week. I added more to V after it went lower than my average price. KO continues to go up and hence I decided to buy PEP instead.

I invested a total of $300 ($100 in each stock). It is not a lot, but better than nothing. These purchases add $6.12 to my annual dividends. This results in 2.04% yield. Over the course of next several weeks/months, I plan to build positions in the above stocks.

Disclosure: Long on PEP, AFL, V, KO

Sharebuilder Purchase – 9/30/2014

Here are my sharebuilder automatic investments this week (9/30/2014). I am looking forward to building these positions slowly over the next few weeks/months.

  • AFL – 1.7135 shares @58.36
  • PEP – 1.0723 shares @93.26
  • V – 0.4691 shares @213.175

AFL continues to drift downwards over the last three weeks since I initiated the position and I have been adding to it each week. I added more to V after it went lower than my average price. Like I mentioned last week, KO has been going up and I decided not to buy KO this week. I chose to buy PEP instead (which is also expensive, but…)

I invested a total of $300 ($100 in each stock). It is not a lot, but better than nothing. These purchases add $6.07 to my annual dividends. This results in 2.02% yield. Over the course of next several weeks/months, I plan to build positions in the above stocks.

Disclosure: Long on PEP, AFL, V, KO

Sharebuilder Purchase – 9/16/2014

Earlier this week, I had revised my goals for 2014 for the second time. One of the main reason is due to my Sharebuilder account that I recently opened and plan to invest regularly (preferably weekly). It is great to build the portfolio slowly and steadily. $300-$400 a week over a period of time definitely adds up. Here are my sharebuilder automatic investments this week (9/16/2014).

Recent Sharebuilder Purchase

Early this week I posted about my new trading account that I opened at Sharebuilder and also the advantage plan that I signed up for. I also mentioned about my plan to use this account to invest in stocks that I don’t have any position yet and slowly build them over them over a period of time. Also, as mentioned my plan is to invest at least $1,000 a month to start and then increase it slowly. So based on that approach, I had my first set of automatic investments executed this week.
