Sharebuilder Purchase – 2/23/2016

Here are my sharebuilder automatic investments this week (2/23/2016).

  • DIS – 1.0446 shares@95.733 ($100)
  • EMR – 2.0422 shares@48.9665 ($100)
  • WFC – 2.0774 shares@48.1365 ($100)

I invested a total of $300.

I want to add to my other positions like PEP and KO, but would like for KO to drop ~40s and PEP to ~90s to start adding these again.

This week’s purchases add $8.48 to my annual dividends. This results in 2.82% yield.

These purchases increase my total annual projected dividends to $3,214.53. This reflects the BBL’s dividend cut announced last week.

Portfolio update – August 2015

At the end of August 2015, my portfolio stood at $98,190.40 across all my accounts combined. Comparing to my portfolio balance of $99,295.14 at the end of July 2015, this represents a decrease of $1,104.74 for the month of August which represents a 1.11% decrease for the month.

New investments accounted for $4,341.70, thereby giving a net portfolio decrease of $5,446.44 or 5.48% for the month. That’s probably the largest drop for my portfolio in recent times. But I am not too worried as this just means that my new investments went a bit farther than otherwise 🙂

I am still shy of the $100K mark again. Been close to it for about 3 months now…

I continued my weekly sharebuilder purchases in August. I used the drop in the last week of August to add to my Unilever (UN) position. I also initiated a new position in Wells Fargo (WFC)

Here is a graph showing the growth of my portfolio since 2009.

Recent Purchase – Wells Fargo (WFC)

Apart from my weekly sharebuilder purchases, I try to make big purchases here and there in order to meet my goal of investing $35,000 this year. I have been behind in that as witnessed in the recent goals update. The last big purchase was towards the end of May when I initiated a position in Exxon-Mobil.

So on Monday when the market dropped, I used the opportunity to make another purchase. Of course, it is impossible to time the market and I made the purchase at the middle of the day after it had recovered. But the market continued to drop yesterday as well and not sure how it is going to behave in the near future. Maybe I could have waited, but you never know.
